Content Designer and Templates

Content Designer is where teams prepare the message layout that a campaign will use when it is sent through email, SMS, push, in-app/CMS, or printed messages. A campaign can only be sent through a channel when the required template exists and is linked to the campaign.

Use Cases

Use Case
-> Create an email template with a coupon code, barcode, and CTA for a Targeted Delivery campaign.
-> Create an SMS template with short copy and a dynamic voucher code.
-> Create a push notification template for a time-sensitive game or coupon reminder.
-> Create a printed message template to appear on the receipt at checkout.
-> Add a Circular Coupon block so each Customer receives a personalized list of pending coupons.

Template types

Template typeUsed forNotes
EmailRich campaigns, coupon reminders, Circular Coupon, plan communicationsSupports HTML, images, CTA buttons, coupon codes, QR/barcodes, and dynamic content blocks.
SMSShort high-reach messagesKeep text concise and verify credits before large sends.
Push notificationMobile app alertsRequires the app/push provider integration and Customer push consent.
Printed messageReceipt/POS communicationUseful when no digital contact data is available.
CMS / in-appPersistent app contentShown when the Customer opens the app, not as a notification.

Dynamic variables

Templates can include variables that are filled per Customer or per Voucher at send/render time.

Common examples:

Variable typeExample
Customer dataCustomer name, loyalty balance, tier
Voucher dataVoucher code, expiration date, barcode or QR
Campaign dataCampaign name, CTA, offer copy
Dynamic contentCircular Coupon pending-coupon list

Only use dynamic variables that are supported by the selected channel and campaign type. If a variable depends on a Voucher, the campaign must create or reference a Voucher for the Customer.

For SMS templates with a coupon or discount promotion, the {couponLink} variable generates a unique personalized barcode link per recipient. See Coupon Link in SMS.

Coupon codes and barcodes

Email and printed-message templates can include coupon codes and barcode/QR elements. Use them when Customers need to redeem a Voucher in store or online.

Before sending, verify:

  • The campaign actually creates or references a code.
  • The selected channel template includes the correct variable.
  • The code is readable in the rendered template.
  • The redemption channel accepts the code format.

Circular Coupon block

The Pending Coupons dynamic block renders each Customer's pending coupon list inside an email. It is normally used in an informative Targeted Delivery with No promo, because the campaign reminds Customers about existing Vouchers instead of creating a new one.

The list is Customer-specific and ordered by:

  1. Expiration date.
  2. Priority when multiple coupons share the same expiration date.

Circular Coupon is feature-gated. Confirm the Company has it enabled before using or documenting it for a customer.

Configuration

Create templates from Campaign Personalization β†’ Channels or from the channel step inside a Targeted Delivery or Intelligent Delivery campaign.

Template availability depends on the channel configuration in Configuration β†’ Company β†’ Channels.
