Reward Codes
Reward codes are unique codes generated and delivered to customers when they redeem a catalog reward that requires a code β for example, a partner voucher, a digital gift card, or a subscription code.
How It Worksβ
- Customer redeems a reward that has codes attached.
- Loyal Guru assigns a unique code from the available pool to the customer.
- The code is delivered via the customer-facing channel (app, email, or SMS).
- The customer presents or enters the code to claim the item.
- Code inventory is consumed in order (FIFO). When the pool runs out, redemption fails until new codes are uploaded.
Code Typesβ
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Single-use | Each code can only be assigned to one customer |
| Multi-use | A shared code any customer can use (e.g. a partner discount link) |
Configurationβ
Go to Loyalty and Promotional engine β Rewards β [Reward] β Codes tab in the Owner App.
Uploading Codesβ
Codes are uploaded as a batch via CSV:
- Navigate to the reward detail page and open the Codes tab.
- Click Upload external codes (CSV file).
- Select a CSV file β one code per line, no header.
- After upload, the file name and size are confirmed on screen.
- The reward list displays Remaining codes to track inventory at a glance.
info
Upload new batches before the remaining code count reaches zero to avoid redemption failures for customers trying to redeem.
Code Inventory Visibilityβ
The rewards list includes a Remaining codes column that shows live inventory for code-type rewards. This allows operations teams to proactively refill before stock depletes.
